![]() ![]() Meaning the amount of time it took you to beat everything is the same amount of time it will take you to complete a single trophy that should have been half of what it demands. At some point you will have absolutely everything done, completely, you're done with the game, you've beaten every possible challenge, but you still only have about 400-500 miles driven. But if I even mention trophies, let's talk about the 1000 miles trophy that take nearly forever to naturally get. Gymkhana was the worst mode the game could have, specially being tied to a trophy. Slow speeds, drift, hold the trigger and wait for the race to finish. I expected the game to get more intense, but everything remained the same. Most vehicles don't really feel like a different drive experience. It didn't took long to become repetitive. The style, the cars, the engine sound, the different type of races and the handling felt pretty good, but it didn't last long. Superb EDIT : some slowdown has been introduced in latest patch that wasn’t there previously, so would deduct 2 points for that. I was totally not expecting the title to be this good. If only DriveClub could be re-released on PS5 with 60FPS, that was the only thing stopping the title being a huge system seller for PS4 and Pro! As a launch title for PS5, I think it has the best graphics on any title, including Miles Morales & Demon Souls ! I don’t think Dirt 5 marketing team have really promoted this as well as they should have. I have just spent 5hrs solid and I’m addicted to it. The dev team are fairly local to where I live and I am so glad they are back on track with this title. Wheel support is fantastic with good handling feel over different surfaces and conditions and FFB works nicely with a T300RS Thrustmaster. Silky smooth 60FPS graphics in quality mode (same in online races). ![]() This is like the DriveClub that was meant to be, only wider variety of vehicle types and surfaces. This is Never bought a Dirt Game since Dirt Rally (PSVR version) but as this was only racing game at launch, took a shot. It's not always the case with even the "free" PS+ games but this was one I recommend some time with.Never bought a Dirt Game since Dirt Rally (PSVR version) but as this was only racing game at launch, took a shot. It was, as I say, an awful lot of fun to blast around the courses and it was easy to quickly dash into a game and get going. There is also a course creation section, and you can download courses created by other people to time trial against. There is DLC, that adds new locations, but I was never going to do that. There are only six or seven countries that provide the wider courses, though they are remixed and reversed, I soon came to know each of them pretty well. So it's fun, and I played it for hours - why did I stop? Repetition really. There are some story elements pushed into the game via a series of podcasts that play as your in the menu's - they seemed to highlight rival racers that I was apparently in a feud with, but if I'm honest none of that registered with me. I got used to the drift mechanic and was winning racers and progressing nicely. It was a fun racer, that allowed progression via standard play, but also lets you purchase cars early to increase your likelihood of winning the earlier races. I have to say, I genuinely enjoyed playing the game. As well as trying to win the race your sponsor will provide mini challenges to be undertaken within it, which can help increase your reputation. The game places a particular emphasis on realistic alterations across a race time, with weather changes, or a day night cycle affecting the laps. The latest game in the long running Colin McRae Rally series "Dirt 5" sees you able to race a wide variety of cars, across a number of different disciplines in various real (and quasi real) locations around the world. What I found was a game that better balanced the arcadyness and simulation than I anticipated and, until the repetition eventually wore me down, was an excellent time. Serious racing games are a genre that I usually don't enjoy but as this was a free PS Plus game (and one of the few genuine full release games on the service so far) I figured I give it a try. I really didn't think that I'd give "DIRT 5" as much of my time as I did. ![]()
